Planing :
Your driver or guide will pick you up from your accommodation at 9 a.m. for an explorative day trip from Marrakech to the amazing High Atlas Mountains and Berber villages. We will drive through the arid desert of Marrakech to reach the Dam of Lallal Takerkoust, where we will have our first stop for photos and enjoy the panoramic view at a height of 1400 m. After you join the Kik plateau, you will discover a beautiful landscape and a totally exotic setting.
Continue driving through the traditional Berber villages, where the authentic houses are built of red and maroon clay and stone by the local families. To learn more about and go deep inside the local culture and traditions, we will have the opportunity to get into a Berber house, where a local family will welcome us in a typical small home to enjoy a glass of tea and a snack. We encourage you, as well, to bring with you little memories (toys, school supplies, etc.) to give them to the little Berber children that you will meet on the road.
If you coincide with a market day (Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday), you will have the opportunity to discover this little secret about these unique markets, where locals meet once a week to sell and buy their staff, exchange goods for money, or sell their animals. Continue driving through the villages of Asni and Sidi Fares and enjoy the beautiful peaks and mountain views over the ski station of Oukaimden.
Continue driving through the Ourika valley, where you explore the organic aromatic garden, which contains the various medicinal plants used by Berbers. And then, as you continue to reach the last village of Setti Fadma, you will meet your local mountain guide, who will take you on a guided walking and hiking tour to explore seven waterfalls in the Setti Fatma Valley. After discovering the waterfalls, you can enjoy a traditional lunch in one of the local restaurants next to the river or feet in the water.
After lunch, you will have some free time to relax before driving back to Marrakech around 5 p.m.
